The Skład Solny Association, officially registered on March 10, 2024 in Kraków after previously operating as an informal group, is a collective of individuals who have proven themselves through social engagement and commitment to the Skład Solny neighborhood.

Today, the historic Skład Solny building houses several non-governmental organizations - focused on culture and ecology. Painters, sculptors, conservation, and music studios have their workshops here. It also hosts a recording studio, and the Skład Solny gallery.

The establishment of the association marks the culmination of years of grassroots efforts to build a strong and engaged local community.

Stowarzyszenie Skład Solny

The Skład Solny Association was founded by individuals actively engaged in social, cultural, and ecological initiatives. Since 2023, we have been transforming the historic building at Na Zjeździe 8 in Kraków into an open and inclusive cultural space – welcoming residents, artists, NGOs, and neighborhood initiatives.

We aim to create a collaborative environment rooted in grassroots activity and community development. Our work combines artistic practice with education, civic engagement, and support for local partnerships. We regularly organize workshops, micro-festivals, residency programs, and the “Open Saturdays” series, alongside collaborative projects with other civil society organizations.

Key public and participatory initiatives include:
– the “Let’s Design a Park Around Skład Solny” architectural hackathon (2024),
– the Skład Solny Fest – a community and cultural event co-financed by District Council XIII and the Podgórze Cultural Centre,
– participation in the Civic Dialogue Committee for Culture at the Kraków City Hall.

Our activities are built on transparency, trust, and cooperation with a wide range of partners – from public institutions to informal neighborhood groups. The decision to formalize the association in 2024 was a natural continuation of long-standing efforts to foster community around Skład Solny.
