What is this E-Course about?
In this e-course, "Reuse/Material Circularity and Material Upcycling," you will explore the concepts of circular economy and circular design from a practical perspective focused on community-based cultural urban and rural spaces, centers and hubs. You’ll learn the fundamental principles of these concepts, along with the idea of upcycling. The e-course will also introduce various methodologies for designing sustainable products and provide you with online tools to assist in this process. Finally, you will see practical examples of new sustainable materials and their applications in ways that benefit the community.
Who is the lecturer?
Paula Mompió.
Paula has a degree in Industrial Design Engineering from Elisava University (Pompeu Fabra University). During her years of study, she has stood out for her collaboration in various projects related to packaging design, sustainability and consumer goods development.
In addition, she has gained work experience in companies specialized in medical devices, where she has excelled in product visualization and rendering. In Eurecat, she holds the position of Researcher in the area of Product Innovation & Multiphysics Simulation, where she specializes in the design and development of innovative products.

Maite Iriondo Lozano.
Maite Iriondo is an Industrial Design engineer from Elisava University (Barcelona) with an Official Master's Degree in Technological Product Design from LCI (Barcelona).
With over 7 years of experience as a researcher and designer in multidisciplinary projects such as health or sports, she specializes in aesthetic and eco-design solutions. She has participated in several national and European R&D projects in the H2020 field.

The course has been implemented as part of #RTL or Rebuilding to Last initiative, one of the biggest for Trans Europe Halles. Rebuilding to Last strives to inspire independent cultural centres to revisit their relationship with nature, with their communities and spaces within their walls, in their courtyards and beyond.
