Fundación Uxío Novoneyra

Right in the middle of mountains, in a misty green corner of Galicia, lays the old house of the Galician poet Uxío Nonovoneyra (1930-1999), since 2010 the headquarters of the foundation named after him: an institution preserving and spreading of the poet’s legacy. The Uxio Novoneyra Foundation keeps the house open to visits as it was in the past, organizing cultural activities with a special focus put on poetry and literature.

Half an author’s house museum, half a living lab for innovation, education and arts in a rural environment, this old cottage house surrounded by centennial chestnut woods hosts exhibitions, conferences, poetry readings, theatre and dance performances. It is also home to writing residences and environmental activities as well as the perfect set for Eidosfest, a literature and mixed arts festival taking place every August.

What makes their organisation unique?

Since the beginning the organisation have relied on European cooperation for financing our activities and also to mediate with other cultural agents in order to boost and consolidate alternative and independent cultural creation in the region of Galicia. They have a wide experience in Erasmus+ and Creative Europe projects, and for the last decade, have proudly welcomed colleagues from all over the continent to their old and beautiful house in the Courel Mountains, UNESCO Global Geopark.
