For over 25 years, Ballade has been dedicated to making artistic practice accessible to everyone, focusing particularly on amateur music. Through the oral transmission of music from both local and international cultures, Ballade strives to create a world where people can live in peace, much like John Lennon imagined in "Imagine".

Since 2006, Ballade has been running international projects across France and Europe, using music as a universal language to bridge cultural gaps. These international initiatives promote encounters beyond borders, strengthen cultural cohesion, and contribute to building a more inclusive, open and solidary Europe.

Over 20 years, Ballade has brought together more than 5,000 participants from 30 different countries. The organisation co-organises Erasmus+ international projects, which focus on music and societal themes for young people, as well as for youth professionals.

Research has shown that music enhances language learning, fosters communication, and helps bridge cultural differences, making it an ideal tool for overcoming barriers and promoting understanding between diverse communities.

Ballade's activities include:

  • Volunteering: opportunities for individuals to engage in community-based initiatives, fostering solidarity and inclusion.
  • International projects: cross-border collaborations through Erasmus+ projects, promoting cultural exchange and cooperation.
  • Concerts: public performances showcasing the music and talents developed through the organisation's workshops and initiatives.
  • Training and knowledge-sharing: offering professional development programmes and raising awareness of important societal issues through music and creative expression.

Through its initiatives, Ballade continues to inspire and empower individuals and communities, creating lasting social impact through the universal language of music.
