About NEB

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is an initiative launched by the European Commission in 2020 to foster a sustainable, inclusive and aesthetically inspiring transformation of living spaces across Europe. Inspired by the original Bauhaus movement, it addresses modern challenges such as climate change, social inclusion and digitalisation. NEB blends design, sustainability and innovation to create environments that are ecologically sustainable, economically viable and accessible to all.

About Local Chapters

Read the NEB Local Chapters: Concept Note (from April 2023), which forms a basis for the creation of a NEB local chapter.

Topics that the Skåne/Scania NEB Local Chapter will focus on:

  • built environments
  • water bodies and environments
  • urban/rural relationships

The NEB Local Chapter partnership aims to foster a knowledge-based approach for social and sustainable change, strengthen democracy, and enable systemic transformation in these environments.

Design-based and artistic practices, combined with stakeholder and community engagement, will guide the work. Its interdisciplinary approach ensures that culture, innovation and sustainability come together to create tangible local and European impact.
