CASCADE upcoming workshops: for cultural practitioners in Ukraine, Georgia and Azerbaijan
The CASCADE project funded by the Swedish Institute aims to help cultural spaces in Ukraine, Georgia and Azerbaijan evolve from mere venues to powerful drivers of change: sparking innovation, inspiring communities and contributing to long-term transformation.
If you are a cultural professional from Ukraine, Georgia or Azerbaijan, participate in a series of online capacity-building workshops designed to support cultural organisations in the region, with a special focus on strengthening the cultural ecosystem across Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus.
These workshops are open to anyone from the countries mentioned above looking to enhance their skills and knowledge in the cultural sector.

9 October: Project management for cultural organisations
This session, led by Anna Karnaukh, will guide you through the entire project management cycle with a focus on the specific needs of cultural organisations. From planning to implementation and monitoring, you'll learn how to effectively structure and manage projects while building strong, sustainable partnerships. This practical workshop will provide you with tools and resources to enhance team coordination, resource allocation, and task organisation, helping you ensure successful project delivery.
Anna is the cofounder and director of Lanka.pro, a creative economy collective based in Ukraine. With over 15 years of experience in design and management, Anna has led various initiatives in both Ukrainian and international contexts. She previously headed the creative economy work at British Council Ukraine and was the programme lead for Culture Bridges, an EU-funded project. Anna has collaborated with organisations such as the European Commission, the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, and the Partnership Fund for Resilient Ukraine. Her expertise in creative economy and cultural programme management will provide you with valuable insights and practical skills to manage cultural projects successfully.
16 October: Risk management for cultural projects
On 16 October, Fairooz Tamimi will lead a workshop on Risk Management. Using the PMI methodology, this session will focus on identifying, analysing, and responding to risks that may arise during project execution. You will learn how to implement structured approaches to minimise threats and leverage opportunities, enhancing your project's success rate. Key topics will include risk planning, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and response strategies, with real-world examples to help you navigate uncertainties and improve decision-making in your cultural initiatives.
Fairooz is a published author and serial entrepreneur with a deep focus on the intersection of culture, innovation, and social justice. Certified in Business Process Re-engineering, Project Management, and Strategic Management, she has been a leading figure in Sustainable Development Goals, Diversity Management, and Social Responsibility. As an ISO global expert, Fairooz brings a wealth of knowledge on Risk Management, guiding organisations in how to manage risks while maximising their opportunities. Her experience with cultural projects will help you understand how to build resilient and adaptive strategies for your own initiatives.

The CASCADE project is funded by the Swedish Institute in collaboration with Malý Berlín (Slovakia) and Izolyatsia (Ukraine), with partner organisations Salaam Art Temple (Azerbaijan) and Culture and Management Lab (Georgia).
