About the project
TEH member Hablarenarte (Spain) is behind the editorial project Impossible Glossary, which for the first time gives voice, and an English translation, to Spanish practitioners and academics working with and around collaborative art practices. Unlike the Anglo-Saxon context, no established theoretical framework yet existed in Spain for collaborative artistic practices, and the glossary set out to capture this emerging, sometimes contradictory discourse by structuring it around a set of key terms.
About the publication
Eight authors and fourteen artists and artist collectives contributed to the concepts of agents, autonomy, authorship, collaboration, work, return and context, alongside a companion set of interviews conducted with artists and artistic collectives on the same key words. Published in both Spanish and English to bring the Spanish context into international debate alongside CAPP's other partner countries (Germany, Finland, Hungary, England and Ireland), the compendium formed part of the European CAPP (Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme) project, running from 2016 and expanding continuously with new voices and perspectives until 2018.
