Jam Factory Art Center

Jam Factory Art Center is ​a multidisciplinary art centre in Ukraine operating on a local, national and international level. It organises and presents various contemporary forms of art and culture such as performing arts, media and visual art, music, performances, film etc.

The building where the centre is located is a unique neo-Gothic building that was a distillery at the beginning of the XX century, then became a jam and canned food factory in Soviet times. The transformation of this former industrial building into a contemporary art centre will be finished at the end of 2020/beginning of 2021.

The architectural project includes restoration of a historic building and its adaptation to the needs of contemporary art, as well as the construction of new buildings that are set to become the largest centre of contemporary art in Western Ukraine.

What makes the organisation unique?

Jam Factory Art Center focuses on contemporary art. In this region of Ukraine, there are very few organisations that deal with various forms of contemporary art. Therefore the centre is creating a very important physical space for implementation of artistic and educational programmes, presentation of performing art, media and visual arts, music, theatre and cinema in the city and region.

An important part of the centre’s current activities include professional and non-professional education in the field of art and culture, which offers the opportunity of engaging in collaboration and interaction between artists, institutions, communities and local residents.
