hablarenarte is a Madrid-based non-profit organisation conceived as a laboratory for the production of projects and social innovation. Founded in 2002, it has been able to develop a sustainable and independent platform for projects that support contemporary creation. The organisation designs and implements its programmes in collaboration with public/private institutions and a wide range of cultural agents.

hablarenarte is focused on artistic mediation and education, as well as cultural and social cooperation through different projects and international networks. It operates with a horizontal structure, dividing responsibilities based on personal skills and making decisions through group consensus. They have also started to run their own space for art residency projects in Madrid.

What makes the organisation unique?

They aim to exchange expertise and knowledge, based on practice, between collectives working across the fields of art/design/architecture, in order to create projects together with the local communities and their inherent needs.
