DKollektiv

The DKollektiv is an artist collective founded in 2016 on the former Dudelange iron - and steelworks, in the south of Luxembourg. Over the years, the organisation grew into a multidisciplinary collective focused on research, experimentation, culture and artistic creation. Currently established inside the VEWA (Vestiaire/Wagonnage) building, which previously housed the cloakrooms, maintenance facilities and train carriage workshop, the association's activities range from talks, shared metal and wood workshops, screen-printing, 3D printing, sewing and analog photography to experimental music and performative arts.

What makes the organisation unique?

People from diverse countries, generations, fields of work and social status collectively create, work, cook and talk together, exchange their knowledge and their individual stories in this common space. Citizens and volunteers re-purposed and worked on the VEWA space in a participatory way. Henceforth, the building is not intended to undergo demolition anymore and was listed as industrial heritage. What makes the cultural place unique and valuable is the atmosphere found within the community on site.
