Ateliersi

Atelier Sì is an independent cultural centre curated by Ateliersi, an artistic production collective that operates in the field of theatre and performing arts in Bologna, Italy. Atelier Sì is the group's headquarters, an atelier for experimentation and production, and a public space that hosts artists and features works offering a comparison of thoughts and aesthetic experiences.

Atelier Sì's multidisciplinary programme consists of theatrical and performative arts (performances, residencies), visual arts (installations, performances, residencies), sound arts (concerts, DJ sets), self-oriented arts (where the spectator becomes a participant), and discourse and writing arts (talks, encounters, lectures, readings). It is characterised by a focus on artistic residencies; a strong relationship between production and programming; attention to the most varied forms of training and education; a connection with emerging fields such as social innovation, crowdsourcing, audience and community building, and new civic hacker models of citizenship; a programme that is voluntarily mobile, operating changes and variations in progress while listening to the fervour of the present time; and an international vocation.

Ateliersi is unique in that it deals with its own artistic production while at the same time curating the cultural programme of Atelier Sì. The collective's two main activities are inherently related, and this inter-relationship between production and programming is the first sign of identity in Sì's artistic direction. The main aspect of Atelier Sì's programming is its artistic plurality. Ateliersi doesn't remain focused solely on its own art form, theatrical and performing arts, but, in line with the multidisciplinary approach typical of its artistic creation, opens its horizon to other live arts.

At TEH, Ateliersi is part of Artistic Residencies and the Italy Hub (Italian Network of Independent Cultural Centres).
