TEH co-launched NEB Local Chapter Skåne
For more than two decades, the Coordination Office of Trans Europe Halles has been based in the city of Lund, in southern Skåne/Scania region in Sweden. From here, we’ve have been coordinating and connecting more than 170 cultural centres and community leaders across 40+ countries in Europe, showing how arts, civic and grassroots culture, as well as community-based activism can drive social and ecological transformation towards more just and democratic structures.
TEH has been a partner of the New Europe Bauhaus (NEB) since 2020. So in 2024-2025, when the opportunity arose, it was a natural step for TEH to co-launch the Skåne/Scania Local Chapter within NEB. Together with 7 other partners, we become dedicated to building a local ecosystem comprised of organisations and inidividuals, who are passionate about more resilient and inclusive future-ready societies.
The chapter brings together seven partners, including Trans Europe Halles, but also Form/Design Center, Malmö University, Region Skåne’s cultural department, Sustainable Business Hub, ShareMusic & Performing Arts, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Rise Sweden.
The focus of the Skåne Chapter will span built environments, water and aquatic systems, and the relationship between urban and rural areas.
Using artistic and design-based methods, alongside strong community and stakeholder engagement, the chapter will aim to turn ambitious European goals into tangible local action.
With the launch of the Skåne Chapter, TEH continues to be a partner to NEB movement, and show how culture, innovation and sustainability can come together to create meaningful impact: both locally here in the Southern part of Sweden, and across Europe.
