Hranicar
Hranicer is opening an exhibition that strives to fight the stereotypes associated with old age. The exhibition encourages intergenerational exchange of experience and knowledge. It starts on 16 October and lasts until February 2020.
Multi Art Centre Bakelit
European Spectators day
On 17 November 2019, Multi Arts Centre Bakelit will host European Spectators Day (ESD). European Spectators Day consists of meetings all over Europe among spectators and curators to discuss theatre and dance. It is an opportunity for audiences to be aware of the creative impact they may have on the artistic process.
The event will take place in the venues of the cultural organisations involved, including Bekelit. It can be followed on the dedicated Facebook group, open to people who want to take part in the event, sharing content and opinions about their experiences as spectators!
TABOO
Open call for international performing artists and companies for the autumn season of 2020
Our current call is all about taboos. What does taboo mean in the 21st century? Is it individually or socially determined? Global or local? Cultural or geographical? Are we tearing them down or creating new ones? We would like to invite productions with a focus on the phenomena of taboo. The selected works will be presented as part of the centre’s autumn season in 2020.
What Bakelit provides
- Stage and rehearsal rooms (for 3 days between Monday and Thursday)
- Accommodation (3 days/ 2 nights)
- Technical equipment and staff
- Publicity
- Photo and video documentation of your presented show
- artistic contribution
- The possibility to network with Bakelit’s international partners from all around Europe
Application process
Both individual and group applications are welcome. Apart from the thematic direction, there are no restrictions at all concerning the genre of submitted works. Please send the following documents to international@bmac.hu:
- synopsis (min. 1500 characters)
- detailed technical rider
- a number of traveling people (traveling costs can’t be covered by Bakelit MAC but we can offer you first assistance to find grants if needed)
- video link (full performance if possible) + a short trailer
- photo documentation (min. 2 high-resolution pictures with credits)
Deadline: 15th of November 2019
The selection will be made by the “active spectators” of Bakelit, a group of art-interested locals and the curators of the center.
Studio ALTA
Studio ALTA (Prague, Czechia) announces a call for applications for professional artists in the field of performing arts. Selected projects are granted:
- An intense residency between 3-14 February 2020
- A work-in-progress presentation on 14 February 2020
- A possibility of further cooperation, such as co-production of the performance.

Antic Teatre
Souvenirs
By the end of October, La Bellesa collective will perform the show called Souvenirs. The Souvenirs project looks into the traumas that war and fascism left. It explores object and documents of that time via narration. This show is a new challenge for the participants, empowering, inspiring, and connecting them with other realities and their past.

Amaranta Velarde
In November 2019 (7-10th) Antic Teatre hosts Amaranta Velarde with her performance Apariciones Sonoras. Apariciones Sonoras is a piece of research into the possible choreographic and visual dimensions of sound. The idea is to create an experience that can be likened to the synesthesia phenomenon, where sound acquires shape and plasticity, and the body and objects acquire sound.

Haceria
Haceria opens new venues
Last June Haceria Arteak and its project ZAWP said goodbye to their spaces through Desembarque Jaia (disembarkation party); a farewell party and a celebration of the journey that was to come. After a summer of intense work of adaptation, the last weekend of September ZAWP premiered its facilities through two days full of proposals for all audiences. With this, the project begins an exciting journey aboard La Terminal and La Nave Va, two new spaces that will host numerous initiatives in the coming years with the aim of continuing to support cultural and artistic initiatives and being a flagship of creativity.
TRAINART project
Kick-off meeting of TRAINART takes place in Ancona (Italy) on October 29 and 30. TRAINART is a Creative Culture Europe project of which Haceria Arteak is part with 4 other European cultural organizations.
TRAINART (Development of new skills for innovative business models in the performing arts sector) aims to provide new skills to cultural managers and artists interested in developing innovative business models in CCIs in order to strengthen their competitiveness. For this, the project focuses on two specific fields: management models for cultural centers and artistic interventions in nonconventional contexts.
ESTIBA programme
Thanks to the financial support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, in October Haceria Arteak will launch ESTIBA, a program that will grant 3 artists and creators to accompany their processes from their gestation to the first results. The program will involve expert stackeholders who will provide theoretical and practical training as well as management and production tools that granted participants can implement in their initiatives.
The project was born with the aim of addressing some of the most common issues that projects in the ICC sector face. To accomplish this objective ESTIBA is based in four axes: Training, Creation, Exhibition, and Internationalization.
