In 2023 Trans Europe Halles will celebrate its 40th birthday. We don’t know what the cultural landscape will look like but we wanted to send this call anyway. It is a celebratory occasion that sparks energy and we want to create something amazing, of course!

Therefore, this call is different from others. Both events, the conference in spring and the camp meeting in fall will be about the celebration of 40 years of TEH. This can be interpreted in the broadest sense of the word. See below for the description and criteria.

The Thematic Spring Conferences are:

  1. a place for cultural operators across  Europe to reflect and discuss on the most relevant issues in the sector, a place to discover innovative ideas, models and projects created by peer cultural professionals and creatives.
  2. the opportunity for the participants to enhance their professional skills, and ability to work interculturally, and ultimately, help them make their organisations more resilient to external and internal challenges.
  3. the ultimate opportunity to develop your international networks
  4. a rewarding opportunity for both the network and the local host centre:
    • It challenges the relevance and accuracy of the network by engaging its members into a broader reflection.
    • It raises the international profile of the host centre by bringing visibility and attention, it acknowledges legitimacy and professionalism.

What is a TEH Conference?

It is a publicly accessible four-day event, open for cultural and creative professionals. It provides the opportunity to network, exchange knowledge, practices and experience.

A TEH conference is a high quality event. It consists of several sessions of innovative formats with visionary keynote speakers and inspiring workshop leaders who stimulate creative thinking.

It includes an artistic programme that reflects the work of the host centre and is a way for participants to discover the local scene.

The TEH Camp Meetings are:

  2. An opportunity for more collaborators, staff and volunteers from member centres to participate in TEH Meetings
  3. The content is co-organised and co-created by TEH members
  4. A place for peers of the network to reflect and discuss, to share and discover best practices from fellow organisations and to start cooperation for future international projects
  5. A platform to discuss and to decide on the future development of the network
  6. The opportunity for the participants to enhance their professional skills, and ability to work interculturally, and ultimately, help them make their organisations more resilient to external and internal challenges
  7. The ultimate opportunity to develop your international networks
  8. A rewarding opportunity for both the network and the local host centre:
    • It challenges the relevance and accuracy of the network by engaging its members into a broader reflection.
    • It raises the local and regional profile of the host centre by bringing visibility and attention it acknowledges legitimacy and professionalism.
