Independent Cultural Centres in South America

In this project, Trans Europe Halles collaborated with the French nonprofit organisation 2ème Lieu to disseminate information about independent cultural centres based in South America. Through a series of videos presenting interviews with cultural managers working in independent cultural centres, the project explored the ever-uncertain situation of these type of centres started by artists and citizens.

The interviews focused on different topics related to the management of the cultural centres, paying special attention to issues such as tools of communication, sustainability, territorial integration, and prospects. In the final part of each video, the interviewed cultural managers provided advice about how to run a cultural centre.

One of the goals of the project was to “inspire cultural managers with supporting exchange of ideas and good practices“. Let yourself be inspired here.
