Common Grounds

Common Grounds is project by Imbarchino and Banda Larga APS developped together with a group of local and international partners. It starts from a simple idea: the people running cultural centres staff, volunteers, and organisers  often want to engage with ecological issues but don’t always have the tools or knowledge to do so.

The goal of the project is to give them practical support tools, ideas, and real-life examples to help them lead ecological change in their own spaces, organisations, and communities.

After an open call to cultural centres in Northern Italy, the project brought people together to reflect on one of the biggest challenges they face and to imagine ways to address them. This process was supported by experts from ENCC (European Network of Cultural Centres) and Trans Europe Halles, who shared insights and tools to help cultural spaces work towards ecological transition together.

Working with Politecnico di Torino , the project also created an interactive online platform. What makes it special is that it’s built from the ground up, based on real practices from real people. In practice, each practice includes the name and contact of the person who developed it, so anyone using the platform can get in touch directly, ask questions, and learn more.

This makes the platform much more than a list of case studies it’s a growing network, a space for connection, exchange, and support among cultural workers who want to take action for the environment.
