Global Centre for Climate Action

The Global Centre for Climate Action will draw on creative vision, sustainable design, and artistic practice to imagine and enact new approaches for challenging the climate crisis in ways that also focus on decolonization and social justice.

In addition to cultivating a global network for creative climate action, the Centre will also include physical and virtual sites for building cultural community, creating arts projects, curating exhibitions and supporting meaningful action on the climate crisis.

This ecosystem of physical and virtual spaces, programs, and activities will cultivate the profound cultural shifts, resilience, and creative design solutions that we urgently need to respond to the climate crisis and to amplify calls for cultural transformation.

The Global Centre for Climate Action is designed to cultivate and support a network of scholars, artists, and activists committed to this work. In addition to cultivating a global network, the Centre will build cultural community, creating arts projects, curating exhibitions, and supporting meaningful action on the climate crisis.

What makes the organisation unique?

Coming from Canada and North America their socio-political, economic and cultural context is different, and they are interested in engaging with fellow members about these expanded contexts. They can bring a different perspective to the network and share with others how an understanding of that difference can inform how to create successful transcontinental collaborations.

Their commitment to decolonial and equity-based practices in particular may be of interest to the network. They can share best practices and experiences in these areas.
