Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is a European Network of Independent Cultural Centres that connects pioneering cultural actors of Moscow, Budapest and Belgrade with creative forces in Amsterdam, Helsinki and Berlin – to mention a few.


The network currently has
48 Members and 16 Friends in 25 European countries. Founded in 1983, the network now brings together more than fifty multidisciplinary and socially engaged member centres throughout Europe. Most centres are located in buildings from industrial heritage and have taken important action in challenging established cultural policy.

TEH Resource public beta launch

During the TEH Meeting 74 at Röda Sten Konsthall & Konstepidemin in Gothenburg 27-30 September 2012 the public beta of the Resource was launched. The Resource is an online sharing experience where we collect and share the knowledge from members of the TEH network. The Resource have been in the making for a long time and now we need your help to finish it. Explore, share and give us your feedback, more information on the Resource. Voluntary in Belgrade, a series of get together organised in REX (Belgrade, Serbia) every month, is a project led by two volunteers in REX Through exhibitions, presentations, film screenings, etc. these meetings focus on  the wide range of experiences that volunteers have in Belgrade, as well as their thoughts and impressions on the life in Serbia.

Think green: Invitation to Creative Strategies of Sustainability.
ufaFabrik (Berlin, Germany) has always been engaged on the path of sustainability and green energies. In September, they will organise for the second time a week of workshops and common reflection on the theme “Creative Strategies of Sustainability for artistic and cultural centre in Europe”. This project organised in the frame of Engine Room Europe aims at giving cultural workers new inspirations to build and manage more sustainable centres.

“Cultural spaces must be respected as spaces of open dialogue and pluralistic culture of perceiving the world”: Political harassment in IZOLYATSIA (Donetsk, Ukraine)
On the  4th of April, a mob of around 100 people broke onto the premises of IZOLYATSIA (Donetsk, Ukraine), crashing the front gates and inflicting other damage to the property with the purpose of putting a halt to an educational event for non governmental organisations.This inherently non-political event was used as an occasion for political actions by protesters, who warned against the spread of new media and new technologies which, according to them, incite violence and insurrection among people.
