As a young person, going abroad and working in another TEH centre is often an overwhelming experience. Thanks to the network's dedicated sending and hosting organisations young persons aged 18-30 are given the opportunity to work at another TEH centre for 2-12 months through EVS. EVS covers all costs of the young person's stay abroad. Within the project The Lift, we are aiming at giving as many young people engaged at TEH centres the possibility of going abroad to work at another TEH centre. The EVS-scheme gives TEH centres a unique opportunity to get to know and work with a lot of young, talented cultural operators and artists from other TEH centres all over Europe. As a result, EVS also contributes to strengthening the network itself, since the exchange develops the links between the sending and hosting organisation and opens up for other long-term collaborations and follow-up projects. At the end of the day, it's all about reciprocity and showing appreciation to the young, dedicated people who are connected to TEH centres all around Europe. It's about offering a once-in-a-life-time opportunity for young people to get work experience at a TEH centre abroad, as well as opening up and welcoming young people from other European countries to our own TEH centre in return.
TEH supports youth mobility within the network by sending and hosting young persons through EVS - European Voluntary Service. EVS is part of the EU Programme Youth in Action and with the help of this mobility scheme young people aged 18-30 can work abroad for 2-12 months with all expenses such as travel, food, accommodation and pocket-money covered.
