The pilot CMCPs will provide information in those fields in which they already have expertise while developing their competencies to be fully operational by November 2009.
The CMCPs will be piloted by Kunstenloket in Belgium, SICA in the Netherlands, the Arts Council of Wales / Wales Arts International in Wales and Interarts in Spain. They are conceived as first entry points for mobile cultural workers and offer advice and administrative support regarding the mobility of artists and other cultural professionals.
In concrete terms the pilot CMCPs will offer information about regulatory issues (tax, social security, visa etc.), national funding for mobility, local job and employment markets as well as country profiles. While they are rooted in their national context they also provide some information on mobility in the EU at large (outgoing mobility).
PRACTICS is a 3-year project supported by the European Commission and started in December 2008. Its aim is to facilitate the provision of information about EU cross-border mobility in the cultural sector. It invites artists and other professionals in the cultural sector to contribute with their experiences to better serve the needs of the sector.
