20 participants from several European countries recently engaged in a 3-day workshop entitled ”Developing the Art of Sustainability in Cultural Centres” at Mains d’Œuvres (St Ouen, France) as a part of the CHANGING ROOM project.
Between June 17-19th 2010, cultural practitioners gathered to discuss the term ”sustainability” and its importance to their organisations. Topics included the economical, social, ecological and cultural aspects of sustainability, and how to integrate these in future work.
Agenda 21 for Culture was brought up as a method of implementation, in which cultural diversity is defined as an individual right for everyone. ”It is a strong political choice to prove that art and culture are cornerstones in our society”, says Camille Dumas, coordinator of the workshop.
Videos from the workshop will soon be available in the CHANGING ROOM
Toolkit.
