Trans Europe Halles member centres are places of artistic and cultural expression on the European continent, which:
  •  are independent and non-profit with a legal structure
  •  grow from civil issues and are responsive to local cultural needs
  •  have a multi-disciplinary approach to art practice
  •  have an impact on the cultural, social and architectural fabric of their environments
  •  have an awareness of the social and political aspects of cultural actions
     with an equal opportunities policy or commitment.

Trans Europe Halles has two membership categories:

Member centres
Trans Europe Halles member centres participate fully in the activities of the network and encourage reciprocity within the network. They take part in the annual European meetings, participate in decision-making at all general meetings and are involved in the network’s projects. The annual membership fee is progressive and varies between 275-1100 euros.

Friends
Organisations who do not meet the membership criteria, can join Trans Europe Halles as a friend. They will be informed of the activities and projects of the network and are welcome to participate in the general meetings. The friend membership fee is progressive and varies between 150-250 Euros per year.
