How to get there
What to bring
This time we bring artistic creation to the heart of the meeting
program and invite all participants to take part in collaborative art
pieces lead by some of Latvia’s most recognized visual artists, Aigars
Bikše, Kristaps Gulbis and Dzintars Zilgalvis. We want to celebrate art both as a means of
personal expression and as an energy that has the potential to change
people, communities and our daily lives.
With a lot of unleashed creativity from the art happenings embedded in
the Riga program, participants will move on to exploring and testing
different methods in arts management. How often do you try a new model
for your staff meetings? How do you initiate a good brain storming
session and get to concrete results? The TEH Meeting offers you an
opportunity to pick up new approaches and models and to test them before
you go back home. Maybe you have found a certain format or methodology
that has changed the way you and the team work? By thinking aloud
together and sharing experiences, participants will challenge each other
to think in new ways.
The Riga-meeting will also be the time and place for important
discussions and decisions regarding the future of the TEH network.
During Spring 2013, the Executive Committee will invite members to
discuss the objectives of the network and in Riga a new Network Plan
will be up for approval by the members. A new Executive Committee will
also be elected and a new President appointed.
“Culture and Arts Project NOASS” is a creative association
that is in the fifteenth year of its operating existence and is one of
the oldest non-governmental arts and culture organizations in Latvia.
NOASS’ goal is to participate in the formation of the Latvian and
European cultural environment. There main aim is to support the realization of
contemporary arts projects in an urban environment, making art part of
the daily lives of residents of Riga and visitors to the city. Since
2009 the association “Culture and Art Project NOASS” started artists in
residence program. We offer the studio apartment at A.Kalnin street and
since the summer of 2011 two residents can be hosted on the second floor
NOASS is situated in a central part of Riga and surrounded by
beautiful river Daugava and AB Dambis park and it has a picturesque,
panoramic view to Riga Old Town. NOASS has based its activities at two
river boat platforms and an amphitheater where residents of Riga can see
“small form” theater exhibitions and contemporary dance performances and
where various art genres freely interact.
Rīga has always been a metropolis with a big-city atmosphere hard to
find elsewhere in the region.
Set on a flat plain divided by the 500m-wide Daugava River, the
city answers the quaintness of Tallinn and Vilnius with impressive
Art-Nouveau architecture of its own, a historic old town and large
parks. You won't want to leave once you're settled into a candlelit bar
or lost on winding, sun-dappled or snow-covered cobbled streets. Rīga
manages to couple its toy-town cuteness of steeples and turrets with a
glitzy nightlife and thriving restaurant scene. Read More!
The meeting will start with a short introduction providing a
playful beginning through collaborative art, a theme that will continue
through the meeting. Training workshops will be held on Friday, giving
you the chance to experiment with new methodologies for art management.
The Saturday will be dedicated to the future of Trans Europe Halles and
finish with a big celebration party on the theme “We are family”. We
will also have the great pleasure to celebrate NOASS 15th anniversary.
Through Working the Net-sessions, Tinderbox and the new Talk Show
session you will find a lot of opportunities to learn about what’s going
on in the network, meet new people and work on common projects.
Let’s use creativity in our daily work - professional development in Riga
